Mubarak discusses Mideast with US congresswoman

President Hosni Mubarak discussed Iraq, the Israeli-Palestinian dispute and Sudan's Darfur conflict with US Congresswoman Diane Watson on Monday. Watson, a Democrat from California, told reporters afterward that Egypt was a pivotal partner of the United States in the search for peace in the Middle East. She said Mubarak would speak to US President George W. Bush later Monday on the phone. She said the Egyptian leader had briefed her on how to achieve stability in Iraq, the Palestinian territories and Darfur.
