The new Palestinian foreign minister is to visit France soon, his first European trip since the formation of the Hamas-Fatah coalition government a week ago, an aide said. The new Palestinian foreign minister, Ziad Abu Amr, is an independent. The French invitation suggested April 2 as a date, but the trip would have to take place later because of scheduling conflicts, said Abu Amr's deputy, Ahmed Suboh.
