Police: Roadside bomb wounds 5 in Baghdad

A roadside bomb exploded in eastern Baghdad, wounding five people during the morning rush hour. The blast occurred at 9:10 a.m. on Sunday along Palestine Street near Beirut Square. It appeared that the target was an Iraqi police patrol. Police said that three of the wounded were policemen and the other two were civilians. Small explosions still occur throughout Baghdad although heightened security has severely cut back on the large car bombs that caused mass casualties during the worst of the sectarian fighting.
