US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice made a surprise visit to Iraq on Wednesday, joining Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld for discussions with Iraqi and US officials in Baghdad.
Rice flew into Baghdad from Turkey a few hours later to shore up the US show of support for the newly emerging Iraqi government.
