The US military says that an American soldier died from wounds sustained when his vehicle was destroyed in a roadside bombing.
The statement said the blast happened late Monday night.
Eleven US soldiers have been reported killed in Iraq since Sunday. At least 4,024 members of the US military have died since the war started in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
