The incident was the second stabbing incident to take place in the coastal city in the space of a week. On Saturday a 16-year-old boy was seriously injured during a stabbing at a beach in Ashdod.

The stabbing apparently occurred when a fight broke out between a few young people.

MDA paramedics took the wounded boy to Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot.
