Capturing the Moment: We present to you historic moments worthy of commemoration in pictures. The Jerusalem Post was present for these moments over the years, and we are proud to commemorate them, one-by-one, in retrospect.

The Six Day War - Liberating the Western Wall - "The Image of the Moment."

Nearly 50 years later, we remember the soldiers who fought and sacrificed in order to secure the State of Israel and liberate the cornerstone of Jewish history.

This shot was snapped after an arduous battle, when our soldiers took a moment to rest at the once forbidden Western Wall. This picture is not only a symbol of strength, Zionism and perseverance, it also symbolizes the beginning of a new era: the Jews were finally returning to the Wall.
