1. FILM: In Search of Lost Love
James McAvoy and Jessica Chastain star in The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Them, a hauntingly original rumination on love and loss. It is the story of a couple that try to reclaim the life and love they once knew and pick up the pieces of a past that may be too far gone.
2. MUSIC: The ladder of success
The 11th annual winter version of the long-running Jacob’s Ladder Festival will take place at Nof Ginossar, by the Kinneret, this weekend. This is the cozier sibling of the main spring event. This year, it features foreign act Jerron “Blind Boy” Paxton, alongside festival perennials.

3. African rhythms
As part of the Jerusalem Thursday night events Hamshushalaim, the Israel Museum is holding a special performance of African All Stars at the exhibition “Hidden Power in African Art.” The musical group combines West African and traditional music using traditional African instruments such as the balafon, N’goni and djembe. With Idan K from Idan K and the Movement of Rhythm; Elise Akaowendo from Groove Ambassadors; and Yoni Ohana and Shahar Kachka of Kabako.

4 Glorious 'Gloria'
The Tel Aviv Soloists ensemble presents its latest concert, Gloria. On the program are Vivaldi’s and Handel’s Gloria; Mozart’s Inter Natos Mulierum; and a cycle of songs for soprano and orchestra by Boaz Ben-Moshe to lyrics by James Joyce. With soprano Revital Raviv, countertenor Alon Harrari and the Collegium Choir.

5. Her little secret
The Ramat Gan Chamber Orchestra presents Susanna’s Secret, a fully staged production of a one-act opera by Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari. The story is simple and typical: Count Gil notices that his young wife’s clothes smell of tobacco. Susanna admits that she has a little secret but is unwilling to share it.
With soprano Yael Levita, baritone Yair Polishook and Silva Moro.

6. Surreal meetings
Young artists “meet” established ones on the walls of the Arsuf Gallery. In the “Hope/No Hope” exhibition, the works of young artists are hung next to those of veteran artists, creating a visual dialogue.

7. See the light
The “James Turrell: Light Spaces” exhibition at the Israel Museum has been extended, giving those who missed it the chance to see the magical works. A gallery talk in English with exhibition co-curator Rita Kersting will be held on Tuesday at 6 p.m. No extra charge. Meet at the exhibition.
8. DANCE: Literally dancing
The fifth Hullegeb Israeli-Ethiopian Arts Festival opens today, offering a plethora of performances including music, theater and dance. The Beita Ensemble, a contemporary Ethiopian dance troupe, will perform its latest work, Hahoo (ABC in Amharic), by artistic director Dege Feder. The work was inspired by the letters of the Amharic alphabet, relating to the unique lines and forms of the Ethiopian letters.

9. See in the darkness
The Children’s Museum in Holon celebrates the 10th anniversary of “Dialogue in the Dark,” an exhibition in which everything is experienced in total darkness.
During the tour, blind guides lead visitors through dark but designed spaces: nature, a noisy pedestrian crossing, a port, a market and a pub, opening visitors’ eyes to the world of the visually impaired. As part of the celebrations there will be a new tour – a sing-along in the dark with wine tastings (December 11 at 9 p.m.) and many more activities.

10. Echo: Voice museum action
Aseries of live-performance site-specic events, will be held at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. The performances shed a unique light on the museum’s various spaces.
Viewers are invited to move in a procession among three locations in the Herta and Paul Amir Building, following the participating artists: Marta Górnicka (Poland), Josef Sprinzak (Israel), Los Torreznos (Spain) and Guy Gutman (Israel).
