Judy
Friends of Tel Aviv University gathered last Friday at the Smolarz Auditorium on the university campus for the premiere screening of Judy, starring actor Renee Zellweger, which tells the story of legendary film star Judy Garland. Before the film, members of the Friends Association heard a lecture by Erez Devorah, from the Tisch School of Film and Television. Amnon Dick, chair of the association, CEO Adi Olmert, and VP Dana Rechtman welcomed the guests, including Sami and Tova Sagol; Hadassah Fattal and Meir Uzan; Tamir Gilat; Dr. Eli Fisher; Zvi Yemini, Tzipi and Pini Rubin; Galia Maor; and Zohar Zisapel.
ToHa Tower
To celebrate the second night of Hanukkah, Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai gathered with Nathan Hetz, founder of Alony Hetz Properties and Investments; Avi Mosler, CEO at Amot Investments; and Avi Jacobovitz, CEO of Gav-Yam. They also celebrated Gav-Yam and Amot’s ToHa Tower receiving LEED Platinum level, the most widely used green building rating system in the world. Architects Ron Arad and Avner Yashar collaborated on the construction of the tower, as well as on the innovative elements and systems, which together with the Atrium Tower make it the greenest building in Israel.
New Year’s Eve
Gazit Globe owner Chaim Katzman attended an early New Year’s Eve party held by Hilik Lasri, an owner of Gift Card, who was hosting clients and friends at the Jaffa Theater Club.
IATI
Israel Advanced Technology Industries (IATI) hosted the seventh annual IATI Development Centers Forum, hosting senior tech industry executives in Israel, as well as representatives from the government, academia, venture capitalism, and more than 100 CEOs of R&D centers in Israel operated by multi-national corporations. Karin Mayer Rubinstein, president and CEO of IATI, welcomed guests to the conference and immediately afterwards, IATI co-chair Erez Tsur gave a review of IATI’s activities from this past year.
Guests included Apple Israel CEO Rony Friedman; MK Izhar Shay; CEO of Israel Innovation Authority Aharon Aharon; founder of Viola Ventures Shlomo Dovrat, who is co-chair of IATI MNC Forum; Vice President, Search & AI, at Google Yossi Matias; and director of Ichilov Medical Center, Prof. Roni Gamzo.
Educational-Rehabilitation Center
Friends of Beit Loewenstein Hospital Association Chair Erez Meltzer, and CEO Shula Malik, held a fundraising event, during which NIS 1 million was raised for the expansion of the hospital’s Educational-Rehabilitation Center, part of the Department of Child and Youth Rehabilitation. Guests were welcomed by Prof. Ehud Dodson, director of Clalit and Dr. Hagay Amir, director of Loewenstein Hospital.
