A guide to Israel's Olympic team: Nike Kornecki and Vered Baskila

After only managing an 18th place finish at the Athens Olympics, Kornecki and Buskila will be looking to break the top-10 in Beijing. Kornecki and Buskila split up after the best year of their career in 2005 in which they won a silver medal at the European Championships and finished fifth in the World Championships. Kornecki, however, came out of retirement at the end of 2006 and the duo booked its place in the Olympics after finishing last year's World Championships in eighth position. The team ended this year's Worlds in 17th position and in its last event before the Games in June, finished the Europeans in eighth place.
