No one expected Nufar Edelman to make the Israel delegation for the Beijing Games, let alone represent her country in two straight Olympics. However, the 29- year-old proved all her doubters wrong yet again by booking her place in London by finishing in second place in the Andalusian Olympic Week event in Cadiz, Spain in February.

Edelman ended the Beijing Olympics in 16th place, but the Rosh Hanikra native could only manage a 55thplace finish in March’s World Championships, meaning the expectations from her in London aren’t very high.

However, she proved in Cadiz earlier this year that having her back against the wall can actually help her come up with her best form and another top-20 finish in the Olympics will be regarded as a success.
