Trump made the claim Friday on Twitter hours after hundreds of protesters were detained during a sit-in rally in Washington D.C.
Thousands of anti-Kavanaugh protesters rallied outside the Supreme Court and entered a Senate office building. Hundreds of demonstrators were arrested, including actress Amy Schumer.
The accusations led to the #MeToo movement in which hundreds of women have publicly accused powerful men in business, politics and entertainment of sexual harassment and abuse.
Protests took place in London, Zurich, Berlin, Tokyo, Dublin and Singapore.
The woman said that as her husband snapped a photo of her and Franken, he pulled her in “awkward close” and “put his hand full-fledged on my rear.”
News anchor Leeann Tweeden says Al Franken kissed and groped her without her consent.
