According to the letter, Zionist Organization of America head Mort Klein is alleged to have engaged in “a pattern of racist and Islamophobic behavior."
The progressive Jewish group J Street asked supporters on Monday to urge their respective senators to sign the letter.

Other major Jewish organizations from both sides of the political spectrum commended the two leaders for coming together, ending over a year of political stalemate in Israel.
"We strongly support Israel's right to defend itself and its people against acts of terror," the progressive Jewish group J Street said.
"DMFI, in reality, represents a minority of pro-Israel Democrats, who seem more concerned with targeting progressives over Israel policy than with confronting the destructive agenda of Donald Trump."
