US Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism Elan Carr equated BDS to antisemitism in mid-April.
Speaking on CSPAN, Carr was asked if the two were one and the same.

While affirming that an individual “has the right to buy or not buy what they please,” Carr firmly said that, “if there is an organized movement to economically strangle the state of Israel, that is antisemitic.”
“The administration is unequivocally opposed to the BDS movement, and to the idea that somehow there can be movements organized to deny Israel its legitimacy and not to allow Israel to participate in economic commerce in the world. Sure, that is hatred of the Jewish state and that is hatred of the Jewish people. And that’s something that is very clear and that is our policy.”
The appointment for Carr came two years into Donald Trump's presidency, and just as a bipartisan majority of lawmakers has been pressing his administration to fill the congressionally mandated role. Carr was appointed in February. The office was established in 2004.
