Speaking Wednesday to Israel's Channel 13, Ettinger, whose father was killed when Palestinian terrorist Omar Abu Leilah opened fire at a bus stop near the Jewish community of Ariel, said she believes Israeli soldiers are today afraid to act.
“I don’t know what was going through the soldiers’ heads there,” Ettinger said, “but I can know that in our country there’s not much support for soldiers to try and reach the target.”
The late Ettinger, who was attacked on Sunday, did not speed away in his car even after he was hit. Rather, it is understood that he tried to shoot the man with his own weapon.
Leilah, who also murdered a soldier and critically wounded another, was nabbed by the IDF on Tuesday. He was killed during his arrest.
Ettinger said she was not comforted knowing that the soldier was eliminated, but she was happy.
On Wednesday, Tamar Ettinger, 44, called for the expulsion of the terrorist’s entire family from the West Bank.
