Israel denies Lebanese reports that IDF soldier captured in Hezbollah attack
Official Lebanese news agency had reported that soldier was kidnapped in attack on IDF vehicle on Lebanese border.

The IDF on Wednesday denied that one of its soldiers had been captured in a Hezbollah attack along the Lebanese border."The rumor of abduction has been ruled out," the IDF said after Lebanon's National news agency reported that a soldier had been seized.A Lebanese political source familiar with the Hezbollah operation confirmed the IDF's assertion that no Israeli soldier was captured in the attack.A number of soldiers were hurt in the Hezbollah attack that targeted an IDF military vehicle with an anti-tank missile. Hezbollah also fired a number of mortar shells at Israeli communities in the attack.The IDF responded with artillery fire and air strikes against Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon.Hezbollah kidnapped IDF reservists Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev in 2006. The kidnapping led to the Second Lebanon War.Hezbollah returned the bodies of Golwasser and Regev to Israel in 2008 in exchange for for five Lebanese prisoners held by Israel.Reuters contributed to this report.
