Palestinian leadership in Ramallah decides to continue security coordination with Israel
Abbas’s advisor on religious affairs also said that the Palestinian leaders also decided to support and activate “popular resistance” against Israel.

Palestinian leaders meeting in Ramallah decided on Sunday evening to present a plan to the UN Security Council calling for an end to Israeli “occupation,” Palestinian officials said.The officials said that the plan, which calls for a Security Council resolution that sets a timeline for an Israeli withdrawal to the pre-1967 lines, will be presented to the Security Council on Wednesday.They said that the decision was taken during a meeting of PLO and Fatah leaders that was chaired by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.Mahmoud Habbash, Abbas’s adviser on religious affairs, told the Bethlehem-based Ma’an news agency that the Palestinian plan would be presented for a vote at the Security Council on Wednesday.He said that the Palestinian leaders decided to pursue security coordination with Israel “to protect the vital interests of the Palestinian people.” He added: “Security coordination won’t be halted as long as it serves Palestinian interests.When it becomes against our interests, we will stop it.”Habbash said that the Palestinian leaders also decided to support and activate “popular resistance” against Israel.
