Palestinian assailants wounded two police officers in two separate attacks in the West Bank on Thursday that were six hours apart.
Early in the morning, police were dispatched to a section of Route 90 that passes through the Palestinian village of el-Auja near Jericho.
They were there to redirect traffic snarled by a tree that had collapsed onto the road as a result of strong winds in the Jordan Valley.
A 14-year-old girl who lives in the village walked up to one of the officers, stabbed him in the shoulder and fled the scene.
The officer who was stabbed ran after her and arrested the assailant without firing a shot.
MDA paramedics evacuated the officer to the Emek Medical Center in Afula.
In addition, around 1 a.m., shots were fired at a police vehicle by Rehalim junction next to Ariel.
The officer inside the vehicle was lightly wounded when a number of bullets hit his vehicle.
Security forces are searching for the suspect.
They are also searching for the two Palestinians who stabbed two soldiers at a guard post 2 km. away from the Har Bracha settlement, south of Nablus. One of the soldiers was moderately wounded in the shoulder and the other soldier sustained stab wounds to his face.
