Shin Bet: 'Terrorist plotted shooting attack due to quarrel with parents'

Separately, three relatives with no past security offenses carried out gun attacks with automatic firearms in Samaria, investigation finds.

An armed Palestinian arrested last month planned to shoot at vehicles with Israeli license plates on the road to the unauthorized outpost of El Matan in northern Samaria, but changed his mind, the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) announced on Tuesday.
The suspect, Imad Al-Huli, a resident of the village of Azun, was taken into custody by the IDF on March 23 near El Matan’s perimeter fence. During questioning, “It emerged that the source of Huli’s intention to carry out an attack was rooted in a personal reason; an argument with his parents regarding the cancellation of his engagement,” the Shin Bet said.
Separately, a joint Shin Bet, IDF and Israel Police operation led to the arrest of three relatives who allegedly shot at traffic near the village of Iskaka southwest of Nablus on February 5. The gunfire did not cause any injuries.
The Shin Bet said three residents of the village of Arura, north of Ramallah, were behind the attacks. None of the men – Abdullah, Hamada and Salah Aruri – had a record for security offenses. During questioning, “It emerged that they purchased two automatic weapons in Samaria, and carried out preparations in possible attack scene before carrying out the shootings,” security forces said.
