A 22-year-old female Ecuadorian national died in Jerusalem Sunday evening, four days after being critically wounded in a terrorist attack that also took the life of threemonth- old Chaya Zissel Braun and injured seven others.
According to Israeli media reports, the victim, Karen Yemima Mosquera, was a student living in Israel for the past year, who was in the process of converting to Judaism.
The Foreign Ministry said Mosquera’s parents and sister were flown out at the expense of the State of Israel, in keeping with protocol when a foreign citizen is seriously wounded in a terrorist attack.
Mosquera will be buried in a ceremony on the Mount of Olives on Sunday night, officials said.
Braun was killed on Wednesday evening, when Palestinian terrorist Abdel Rahman al-Shalodi, of east Jerusalem’s Silwan neighborhood, rammed his vehicle into her stroller and a crowd of people in the capital. The attack, which was captured by a security camera, took place at the Ammunition Hill light-rail stop, where Shalodi was shot by police upon attempting to flee the scene on foot. He died hours later and is scheduled to be buried in Silwan late Sunday night.
