Eli Zohar to head Gesher board

Zohar was instrumental in the passage of the ground-breaking Cinema Law that assured some $50 million annually for Israeli filmmaking.

Attorney Eli Zohar will replace General (res.) Zvika Zamir as Gesher Theater board chairman. The unanimous decision was made at Gesher's annual board meeting last month. Zamir has been chairman since Gesher's establishment in 1991. Zohar has held a string of public offices, not least of which as chairman of the Film Council, and he was instrumental in the passage of the ground-breaking Cinema Law that assured some $50 million annually for Israeli filmmaking.
