Altogether there are 11 new productions at Gesher over the next two years, all but three are new plays or material adapted from Israeli and world literature.

Israeli playwrights Savyon Librecht and Yehoshua Sobol are both working on scripts for the Gesher theater. Librecht's play, Freud's Women ( a working title), has to do with his wife, daughter-in-law and daughter who fled to London after the Nazi takeover of Austria in 1938.
Sobol, who wrote the long-running Village for Gesher, is calling his play Man of the Century, also a working title. It concentrates on Ferdinand Esterhazy, the shadowy and charismatic French Army officer who was, as it turned out, the actual spy in the infamous Dreyfus Affair.
"People are tired of plays about anti-Semitism or the Holocaust," says Gesher's artistic director and founder Yevgeny Arye. "I realize that, but it's important that theater continues to address it, because the situation does not improve."
