3.GO GREASED LIGHTNING
Experience a blast as Merkaz Hamagshimim Hadassah’s Center Stage Theater together with Encore Theater Company presents its production of Grease, the classic Broadway musical and film from the 1970s that paid tribute to Chicago teen culture from the 1950s. So go TBirds and Pink Ladies! In English.

4. MIXED BAG FEELING GREEN
Over at Mike’s Place they are saving their Purim costumes for the weekend, and honoring St. Patrick today, with green beer, fun, and and a DJ playing traditional Irish music. Come celebrate the luck of the Irish with staff dressed in green as well as makeup artists from Guinness.

5. IT’S A BIRD’S LIFE
Eilat plays host to the fifth annual International Spring Migration Festival. The program is timed to coincide with the peak week of Israel’s spring migration. Activities include free guided daily tours to the best birding hot spots in the southern Arava, a hands-on ringing demonstration and bird identification workshops in the field.

6. PURIM ADLOYADA
The country’s largest Purim celebration takes to the streets of Holon once again. This year’s Adloyada parade has “love your neighbor as yourself” as its theme. Thousands of flowers and balloons sculpted and shaped as animals, insects and plant life; 4,000 marchers from across the country; hundreds of entertainers, including acrobats, jugglers, dancers, drummers, gymnasts, musicians, street actors and graffiti artists; and an array of giant floats are just some of the antics in store.

7. MOSHAV MADNESS
What happens when you combine Bob Dylan, Shlomo Carlebach, and Neil Young? The answer is The Moshav Band.
The band’s blend of rock, folk, reggae and Middle Eastern music has achieved success not only in Israel but also in America, where the group was recently on tour. Brothers Yehuda, Meir and Yosef Solomon, as well as friend David Swirsky, grew up in Moshav Mevo Modi’im, the birthplace of many popular Jewish songs.
To date the band has appeared with the rapper Matisyahu, among others, and has drawn comparisons to Pearl Jam and Dave Matthews Band. Join these talented musicians for a special Purim concert at Jerusalem’s The Lab. NIS 80/90.

The Tower of David Museum invites parents and children to a Purim celebration of rhythm and music, creativity and humor in a workshop led by the Mayumana performing arts group.
The ancient citadel will be brought to life with Mayumana rhythm and dance, movement and music from sticks, buckets, cans and percussion performed using your own body as the instrument!

DAUNTING DUATO
Ballet lovers will swoon over the return of the National Dance Company of Spain, which under the artistic leadership of Nacho Duato during this decade has become one of Europe’s top dance ensembles. The Spaniards will perform three of Duato’s most prominent works including Forms of Silence and Emptiness.
