French actress, director and former Bond villainess Sophie Marceau will take part in the 22nd Haifa International Film Festival, organizers of the event announced recently. Best known to English-speaking audiences for her roles opposite Mel Gibson in Braveheart and Pierce Brosnan in the 1999 James Bond thriller The World Is Not Enough, Marceau will arrive in Haifa to screen her latest film, the French-language La Disparue de Deauville, which she co-wrote, directed and stars in. The 40-year-old actress made her acting debut as a 13-year-old in 1980's La Boum, and has won acting and directing prizes at France's Cesar Awards and at the Montreal World Film Festival. Marceau starred opposite Israeli-born actor Yvan Attal in her most recent film, the 2005 drama Anthony Zimmer.
