If you find yourself at that rare point in time where you need to decide which new car to choose, it's hard not to be overwhelmed by the numerous car brands in Israel, some of which we hadn't even heard of a few weeks ago. If you also can't see the car you need among the many brands, you've come to the right page.

The electric Kia EV6 has arrived in Israel with the prestigious title of "Car of the Year in Europe" in the electric car category. This is thanks to its long range, fast charging speed, and exceptional modern and technological crossover design.

Kia has a very distinctive design language. On the other hand, the different models in the lineup have similar visual characteristics and manage to avoid the phenomenon where each model looks like an enlarged or shrunken version of the one before it in the segment.

The electric EV6 also carries the same design DNA of the Kia brand in its latest and most updated form. If this is a new interpretation of the "tiger face," the iconic grille that elevates the appearance to the digital age, long and flowing body lines that give the car a sleek and aerodynamic silhouette, and a prominent rear diffuser integrated with the taillights.

These are, by the way, like the front LED lights strong bulbs. The vehicle connects in a fascinating way straight and strong power lines with curves and arcs taken from the aviation world. The result is an exceptional and very appealing appearance and non-conventional performance for the concept of "how an advanced electric SUV should look in our time."

The secret to its high appreciation is the EV6's arrival from the innovative platform called E-GMP. It is a unique architecture for an electric vehicle, with a modular structure suitable for implementation in many electric models. Unlike most electric cars that operate in the 400-volt range, the E-GMP platform operates in the 800-volt range. This is reflected in its ability to handle high power without temperature loads, and therefore, enjoy much higher charging speed.

Furthermore, this platform has additional advantages, such as a specially developed rear suspension that integrates the rear drive unit, disconnection of the front motor (in dual-motor versions) to minimize power consumption when not in use, and of course, an optimal placement of the battery at the width of the car's floor to lower the center of gravity and enjoy excellent road behavior.

The battery has a capacity of 77.4 kWh, providing a range of up to 528 km (WLTP) in the rear-wheel-drive version or 484 km in the dual-motor and all-wheel-drive version. The battery can not only be charged at a fast rate at the most powerful ultra-fast charging stations in Israel (subject to conditions), but it can also supply power to external consumers. This feature, also known as V2L, provides up to 3.6 kW power output through the charging socket (using an adapter). It is powerful enough to operate a heat disperser and an electric kettle together - or alternatively, to charge another electric vehicle that is not equipped with this advanced platform.

Future and Spacious Interior

The new electric platform has two more important advantages: a long wheelbase of 290 cm and also a short front and rear overhang (meaning the wheels are very close to the corners of the vehicle) so that most of the space between the wheels can be utilized for a spacious passenger compartment and a useful cargo compartment. With almost a meter of legroom for rear passengers and a flat floor, this is one of the spacious cabins you will find in this vehicle group. For front passengers, there is over a meter of legroom, and in both rows, there is headroom of over 90 cm.

These interior dimensions do not come at the expense of cargo space, which stands at a generous 520 liters that can be accessed through a cargo door with a wide handle and electric opening (according to the level of finishing).

In the driver's compartment, you will find two 12.3-inch screens, each. A full digital dashboard and a multifunctional multimedia screen are connected, creating a consistent sequence. The resolution is high, and a dynamic lighting system reduces the light with automatic brightness - to prevent glare at night or reflections in full daylight. All gauges and controls are within reach, and the operation is fully intuitive, even with a Hebrew interface. In addition, there is an Android Auto and Apple CarPlay reflection for an even better digital experience.

If we are already talking about the driving experience, it's worth mentioning that Kia invested a lot in background noise isolation, so you will find sound-absorbing materials in the floor, wheel arches, doors, and panels, and even in the sun visor with enhanced acoustic insulation. All this is to create a calm and safe environment for passengers and drivers.

What brings us to the section of long and rich safety in advanced safety systems whose role is to assist the driver and reduce the load of driving and even intervene actively - if the need arises. For example, you will find a collision prevention system that will warn the driver if a car is approaching or when crossing an intersection. If the driver ignores the warnings, the system will automatically apply the brakes to prevent a collision. In any case, the driver needs to be in full control.

In addition, you will find adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring with audio and video alerts on the instrument panel (BVN), driver fatigue monitoring, warning and braking if the vehicle detects a crossing movement from behind, and smart parking assist that uses a system of cameras and sensors to identify an available parking spot and steer into it. Alongside many other systems, it is also important to mention the intelligent lighting system that manages each LED bulb separately to prevent glare from oncoming vehicles while continuing to illuminate the road with high beam lighting. All of this in real-time.

Which EV6?

In the offering of three equipment levels for the EV6, starting from a price of 236,900 shekels. The Premium level includes a rear motor that produces 225 horsepower and 35.7 kgm powered by a 77.4 kWh battery, providing an official range of up to 528 km. The vehicle is equipped with 19-inch wheels, an extensive safety system, a full digital cockpit, drive mode selector, leather-wrapped steering wheel, wireless charging pad for compatible mobile devices, and many other features. Above it, the TOP level is marketed, which also adds a panoramic sunroof to the specification.

At the top of the range and the senior version is the GT Line level with two engines and dual propulsion. Here the output stands at 325 horsepower and 62 kg/m, creating instant acceleration of 5.2 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. The official driving range is 484 kilometers.
