The Israeli monkey sanctuary located in the Ben Shemen forest is a safe place for monkeys in need of rehabilitation and rescue.

Since October 7, the shelter has opened its doors to additional animals, which were rescued from the combat zones.

Alongside the reception of the new animals and the regular tours conducted at the shelter, unique picking tours will also be held on the following Fridays, which connect the flora and fauna and allow visitors to learn about the flora around us, the uses of different plants and eventually even prepare a shared meal from the collections, which they will eat inside the monkey sanctuary.

The tours, which will be guided by Miri Fox, a collection and healthy lifestyle instructor, will be held on Fridays (23.2, 8.3, 15.3) starting at 09:30 in the morning, at the monkey shelter in Ben Shemen Forest.

Visitors will go on a tour of the monkey sanctuary itself, pick from the various wild plants that grow there, which are unique to the winter season, learn about the different uses the monkeys make of the plants around them, get to know the healing properties, the spice or the taste of each of them, and together they will prepare a special meal from everything they pick in the field.

The tour is suitable for those aged 18 and over only (without children) and is about 4 hours long.

Price for the collection tour: NIS 230 per person, NIS 400 per couple.

Price for a regular tour: NIS 48 per person.
