A 20-year-old east Jerusalem resident was arrested on Sunday night for committing an indecent act on a hospitalized woman.
According to Israeli media, he entered the woman's room at Hadassah-University Medical Center and removed his clothing in front of her.
Security guards at the Jerusalem hospital had detained the suspect until Israel Police officers arrived to take him away for interrogation.
"We do not take this incident lightly and trust Israel Police and relevant authorities to act on the rule of law with the suspect," Hadassah's spokesperson reportedly said in a statement.
Police have asked the court for an extension of his arrest as the investigation is ongoing.
