20,000 requests to fire, furlough women on maternity leave during corona

Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, 20,000 requests have been made to fire women or put them on unpaid leave in violation of protective laws, according to a Knesset Spokesperson.
Some 3,007 requests were made between September and October, the majority of which were to fire or put on leave women who are pregnant or on maternity leave. The majority of these requests were approved, with only 186 requests denied.
