23 years for Kassam Brigades man for security offenses

The Beersheba District Court sentenced a member of Hamas's military wing to 23 years in prison on Thursday, after finding him guilty of multiple security offenses and attempted murder.
Mohammed Amatzi, a member of Hamas military wing, the Izz a-Din Qassam Brigades, was arrested in January 2009 during Operation Cast Lead.
He was found guilty of involvement in a string of terrorist activities against Israel and IDF soldiers, including transporting and manufacturing weapons, membership in a Hamas suicide bombing squad and firing at IDF soldiers.
During Operation Cast Lead, Amatzi and another Hamas man brought an RPG  and missiles to a house in Jabalya, Gaza in order to fire on IDF soldiers. Amatzi fired a missile at an IDF bulldozer, but its driver escaped death by jumping from the vehicle.
