5 Haifa soldiers attack defendants released to house arrest

The Haifa District Court ruled on Sunday to release five of the six defendants charged with attacking two IDF soldiers in Haifa to house arrest.

The prosecution had requested that all six defendants - two adults and four minors - be remanded in custody for the duration of the legal proceedings against them.

Judge Ron Shapira dismissed that request, and said that prima facie evidence presented in the case showed there was grounds for detaining the defendants but that alternatives to full remand should be given.
