Fatah and Hamas leaders in the West Bank met in Bil'in on Sunday to discuss emulating the Bil'in civic model of struggle against Israel to other points of conflict throughout the territories.
Tensions are high between Fatah and Hamas. Hamas leaders' steps are circumscribed by Palestinian security forces, and flying a Hamas flag is a punishable offense in the West Bank. Yet, for this meeting on opposing Israel the leaders of both factions overcame their differences to sit together.
A Hamas leader said the Bil'in model of struggle was seen as legitimate internationally, and should be adopted everywhere.
