South Africa has named Jeremy Corbyn as one of its supporters in the upcoming ICJ hearing, according to The Telegraph on Tuesday.

Reports say he will accompany the South African delegation to the hearing at The Hague in the Netherlands. The hearing will take place this Thursday and Friday.

The former UK Opposition Leader is one of several political figures from progressive political parties and movements worldwide that will join the South African delegation, the Associated Press reported citing the South African Justice Ministry. The Press reported that Corbyn was the only political figure explicitly named by the South African government.

Other opposers to Israel in the upcoming trial

Bolivia, Malaysia, and Turkey are backing South Africa's ICJ genocide case against Israel.

South Africa has charged Israel of being in violation of the United Nations 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide.

Israeli government spokesperson Eylon Levy referred to South Africa's charges as "blood libel" and said that "history will judge South Africa for abetting the modern heirs of the Nazis. We assure South Africa’s leaders: history will judge you, and it will judge you without mercy.”
