Jewish man wounded in stabbing attack in Hebron area

The man, who was reportedly rescued by a passerby, was subsequently taken to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba. KAN noted that the IDF was investigating the incident.

A Jewish man from Ashkelon was stabbed by a Palestinian in Dhahiriya, in the area of Hebron, Israeli media reported on Saturday. The 57-year-old reportedly sustained moderate wounds from the incident.

The man, who was reportedly rescued by a passerby, was subsequently taken to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba. KAN noted that the IDF was investigating the incident. 

In a statement on the incident on Saturday evening, the IDF reported that it had arrested the terrorist who had stabbed the Israeli man, adding that the event, which took place in Dhahiriya, is in Area A of the West Bank.

Area A is territory under the full jurisdiction of the Palestinian Authority, and the IDF emphasized in its statement that entering Area A is both dangerous and prohibited for Israelis.

The cities of Nablus, Jenin, Tulkarm, Kalkilya, Ramallah, Bethlehem, Jericho, and 80 percent of Hebron are located in this area.

The IDF reported that the attacker had been arrested by reserve forces before being transferred for further investigation.
