Beitar fan arrested for arson

Jerusalem police arrested an additional suspect today in connection with an arson attack against the management offices of Beitar Jerusalem. Two suspects were also arrested on Tuesday. One of the suspects arrested Tuesday and the suspect arrested Wednesday have both admitted they were involved in the arson.
The three men, all members of the hardcore Beitar fan group “La Familia,” are in their 20s and from southern Israel. On Wednesday, the Jerusalem Magistrates Court extended their remand by a number of days.
Police added that the men admitted that the arson was a response to the team's hiring of two Chechen Muslim players Gabriel Kadiev and Zaur Sadayev, a move that has been the subject of harsh criticism from more extreme members of the Beitar fanbase. One suspect also said that the arson was planned out for some time and was not a spontaneous act.
