Benizri visited in prison by Rabbi Yosef, Eli Yishai and others

Former Shas cabinet minister Shlomo Benizri, in prison since September 1, was visited Monday by Shas spiritual leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, Shas chairman and Interior Minister Eli Yishai and two members of the Council of Torah Sages, Rabbi Rafael Pinhassi and Rabbi Shimon Ba'adani. The entourage met with the disgraced former minister in one of the offices of the Ma'asiyahu Prison. Benizri is serving a four-year prison term after being convicted of taking bribes and other corruption-related charges. Before the group left the prison, Yosef made a sermon and prayed the afternoon service with other inmates in the religious wing of the prison.
