Canadian activists are attempting to raise $300,000 to send a boat to break Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip, Canadian newspaper
National Post reported on Thursday.
Gaza Freedom March is reportedly coordinating an all-Canadian crew to sail the same route as the Mavi Marmara did. The boat's goal is to pick up Palestinian goods from Gaza to be sold abroad.
"Our aim is not confrontation. Our hope is that we will be able to fulfill our goal, which is to bring attention to the suffering of the people of Gaza," Montreal-based activist and writer Ehab Lotayef told the
National Post. "This is a peaceful mission."
