Chief rabbi meets Peres on ‘Tal Law,’ calls for civility

Sephardi Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar called on the public not to practice "senseless hatred" against the haredi (ultra-Orthodox) sector in a meeting with President Shimon Peres Sunday morning, Israel Radio reported.
"The Devil is dancing between us and from time to time adds fire to to enhance the bonfire of inextinguishable hatred," Amar said in the meeting.Amar requested the meeting to discuss the “Tal Law” and the implications of recent developments that would force haredim to do some form of national service.
