Christians, Jews buy brand new fire trucks for Israel

Israel’s firefighting services received four new fire trucks from the Fellowship of Christians and Jews this week, which marks two years since the Mount Carmel fire.
The Fellowship had purchased the vehicles with over one million dollars that it managed to raise overseas after the disaster occurred.
The trucks are set to be transferred to fire stations in the Upper Galilee, Western Galilee, Haifa and Gedera and will replace the fire engines from 1985, which served firefighter Danny Hayat and teen volunteer Elad Riven as they tried to rescue a bus burning in the Carmel forest and were killed in their effort to do so.
"Our donors are proud to be part of saving lives in Israel and maintaining the strength of the country,” head of the Fellowship, Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein said in a statement.“Now we are getting hundreds of calls from children around the world who want to give up their Christmas gift to contribute to the security of Israel and the Jewish state,” he added.
