Controversial far-left journalist denies spitting at West Bank police

Gideon Levy, the far-left journalist for the liberal daily Haaretz, told Army Radio on Tuesday that he did not spit at Israeli police officers in the West Bank as they detained him and a photographer.
Levy and photographer Alex Levac were detained in the West Bank after they entered area A and allegedly cursed and spit at soldiers, the Judea and Samaria district police said on Monday afternoon. The two were released after about three hours of detention.
