Poland opened its borders to Israelis who have either been fully vaccinated or who can present a negative coronavirus test conducted 48 hours before their entry to the country.Israel is among a few select countries chosen by the Polish government in an order issued on Thursday.This comes after Cyprus, Greece and Georgia made similar moves. Greece announced recently that it may allow vaccinated Israelis in as early as May, while Georgia and Cyprus respectively announced that they would recognize Israel's green passport program.
The Foreign Ministry and representatives around the world have been working in recent months to promote the recognition of Israeli vaccination certificates in order to open the skies to Israeli travelers.THE number of new coronavirus patients in Israel remains below 1,000, as only 830 tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, according to the Health Ministry's report, bringing the total number of active patients to just over 11,700.Among them, 470 are in serious condition, 244 in critical condition and 212 are intubated. The death toll stands at 6,164.On a more positive note, of the 65,406 people tested, only 1.3% tested positive as the testing trend continues its downward decline. However, the reproduction rate rose from 0.55 to 0.59.Meanwhile, the number of IDF soldiers who have been diagnosed with the virus stands at 119, all of whom are in good condition.
