The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court extended by four days the remand of Capt. A, one of Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi's personal security guards, on charges of attempted rape. The alleged attack took place on Saturday night nine days ago near the Yarkon river in Tel Aviv. On Thursday, the police reported that there was a complete DNA match between the suspect and traces of DNA found on the victim and that there were eye witnesses that tied Capt. A to the scene. Capt. A claims he remembers nothing of the event, only that he consumed irregular amounts of alcohol as he was celebrating his bachelor party. The suspect's mother and fiancÃ©, who both claim he is innocent, were in court to attend the hearing.
