Four haredi protesters arrested in demonstration against IDF conscription

At least four haredim were arrested in Kikar Shabbat in Jerusalem’s ultra-Orthodox Mea Shearim neighborhood Sunday afternoon after a demonstration against the arrest of a yeshiva student last week for refusing to enlist in the IDF devolved into rioting.
According to police, several hundred demonstrators gathered at 3 p.m. and proceeded to hold an illegal demonstration, during which they blocked major roads and threw rocks at responding police officers. No one was injured during the riot, and extra patrol units have since been stationed in the area, a police spokesman said.
