Hadassah nurses plan protest over wages

Nurses at the two Jerusalem Hadassah University Medical Centers, at Ein Kerem and on Mount Scopus, will work on an emergency schedule on Sunday between 10 a.m. and noon to attend workers’ assemblies. They will protest the fact that all Hadassah Medical Organization employees will receive only half their wages on pay day due to HMO’s severe financial problems.
Israel Nurses’ Union head Ilana Cohen said that they are demanding their basic right to get their full salary on time. “It’s unthinkable that nurses who gave treatment for the whole month won’t get their full wages,” she said on Friday.
September salaries were also paid days late by HMO.
Director-general Avigdor Kaplan is trying to arrange for a recovery plan for the financially troubled organization, which has a deficit of NIS 1.3 billion.
