Hesder Yeshiva head calls on Bayit Yehudi to oppose cuts

The director of the association of hesder yeshivas appealed on Monday to members of the Bayit Yehudi party not to allow cuts to the budgets of institutions of Torah study.
“We cannot allow this terrible blow to the Tora world or the collpase of the hesder yeshiva program,” Eitan Ozeri wrote in his letter.
He pointed out that since a budget for 2013 has not been passed, yeshivas have been operating on 80 percent of normal funding this year.
Ozeri added that proposed budget cuts for yeshivas in the budget currently being devised by the Treasury would lead to the closure of many yeshivas due to lack of funds.
The director of the hesder yeshiv program deplored the proposed cuts “when religious Zionism has 12 seats in the Knesset and is a senior partner in the country’s leadership.” Jeremy Sharon
