Japan's JX boosts output at 2 refineries after quake

TOKYO - Japan's JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corp, an oil refining unit of JX Holdings , said on Friday it has started boosting oil product output at two refineries in western Japan by 30,000 barrels per day in the wake of a supply shortage in the east of the country after a massive quake a week ago.
A company spokesman said it was boosting production mainly of gasoline, kerosene and gas oil at its Mizushima and Oita refineries.
It is also taking other emergency measures, including importing oil from South Korea, buying from other refiners and canceling exports.
