Judea and Samaria police seek indictment of right-wing activist

Judea and Samaria police

Police arrested an 18-year-old Jerusalem resident over the weekend on suspicion of puncturing the tire of an IDF jeep outside the West Bank settlement of Yitzhar last Thursday. The suspect was questioned by Samaria police and brought before a court where his custody was extended until Monday. Police say the suspect will be served with an indictment on Monday, adding that they will seek to keep him in custody until the end of legal proceedings. "Judea and Samaira Police take a severe view of acts of this nature," a police statement said. "Any violent conduct towards security personnel will be dealt with the utmost severity and with zero tolerance," the statement added. During last week's incident, police said a group of masked settled attacked an IDF patrol outside Yitzhar, throwing stones as the troops passed. Ben Hartman contributed to this report
