Libya rebels say need $3 b. over next four months

ABU DHABI - Libya's rebels need $3 billion to cover salaries and assure food supplies for the next four months, the country's former foreign minister said on Thursday.
"In the next four months, we need $3 billion. We need to give the salaries of people in Benghazi," Abdurrahman Mohamed Shalgham told reporters at a meeting on Libya in Abu Dhabi.
He estimated frozen Libyan assets in Italy at up to $7 billion, and suggested they could be used to help fund the rebels who have seized most of the east of the country.
