MDA offers GPS system to follow ambulance location until it arrives

Pizza chains and taxi services did it before – but now Magen David Adom has, via global positioning systems (GPS), made it possible for those who call for an ambulance to follow with a cellular phone its movements until arrival.
MDA said it was the “first ambulance service in the world” to offer such a thing and called it a “breakthrough.”
The service will be available free and be updated in real time. A link will be sent to the phone that can be clicked to show a map and the location of the ambulance, from the moment it leaves the station until it reaches its destination.
MDA said this was another step to strengthen public faith in the ambulance, first-aid and blood-supply organization.
