BRUSSELS - Foreign ministers of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization invited Montenegro on Wednesday to join the US-led alliance, paving the way for the ex-Communist country to become the 29th member of NATO. 'We congratulate Montenegro,' NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg told foreign minister to loud applause at the alliance headquarters in Brussels. 'This is the beginning of a very beautiful alliance,' he added.
