PARACHINAR, Pakistan — A government official said a roadside bomb has killed at least four people in northwestern Pakistan.
Aurangzab Khan said two people were also wounded when the bomb went off near a vehicle Saturday in the Ibrahim Khel area of the Orakzai tribal region near the Afghan border. It was unclear who planted the bomb and what the motive was behind it.
Orakzai is the site of a Pakistani army offensive against Taliban militants, but it also has witnessed sectarian clashes between Sunni and Shiite Muslims.
Pakistan is majority Sunni, and there have long been tensions between the two Muslim sects.
